Loyola College is a Catholic Independent Secondary School in the Ignatian Tradition. Located on in northern Watsonia, a suburb of the Australian city of Melbourne, Loyola was founded in 1980 with an initial enrolment of just 134. Today, Loyola College has a steady student population of approximately 1300 pupils in years 7 through 12. The College theme for 2015 is, "Magis... Many Gifts, One Spirit." along with the official motto being "Justice, Mercy and Faith". == Structure == A Regional Catholic College, Loyal's parishes are: St Damien's, Bundoora; Sacred Heart, Diamond Creek; St Mary, Greensborough; Our Lady of the Way, Kingsbury; St Martin of Tours, Macleod; St Francis of Assisi, Mill Park and St Thomas, North Greensborough. Each staff member and student belongs to one of the 6 houses: Chisholm, named after Caroline Chisholm; Flynn, named after The Reverend John Flynn; McAuley, named after The Venerable Mother Catherine McAuley; MacKillop, named after Saint Mary MacKillop; Mannix, named after Archbishop Daniel Mannix; and Xavier, named after St. Francis Xavier.
